2006 Letter from the Founder

Letter from the Founder - Cedric Johnson

“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”

…Plant the seed and God will meet the need…. Thank God for Favor….

I want to thank all of you that donated coats, sponsored coats and gave words of encouragement to help keep the ministry going this year.  Your love has given us great joy and encouragement, because you have refreshed the hearts of many. I also want to that all of the participants that helped distribute the coats this year. Your time and effort is appreciated in so many ways. I want to give a special thank you to D&K Menswear (Jonathan, Elie and Mona) for allowing Scholar Keeper to purchase the new coats from your stores.

We passed out over 242 coats, 202 hats, and 112 pairs of gloves in 2 cities. This year we passed out coats at the same time in Atlanta and Birmingham.  Our participants in Birmingham were Michael Banks, Bobby Chapman, Jr., Malik Banks, Alex Banks, and Mose Stovall. Our participants in Atlanta were Alex Nance, Sr., Alex Nance, Jr., Alvin Dollar, Kenton Eskridge, Kevon Eskridge, Aaron Sterling,  Alston Sterling  and me.  We packed up 5 vehicles on December 20th and rode through the streets of Atlanta and Birmingham looking for homeless people to give out coats.  We also gave clothing and shoes to My Sister’s House, a homeless family shelter in downtown Atlanta.  The message of the day was when 11 year old Alston said “We did not have enough coats. I am going to donate some money next year.” …Plant the seed and God will meet the need….
